How has ProMat evolved over the years?

  • Expanded Venue: The event spans three massive halls at McCormick Place (North, South, and Lakeside) covering more square footage than ever before.1

 

  • The Lakeside Hall showcases exhibits on sustainability, risk management, transportation, distribution, warehousing, and last-mile delivery. It will open each day at 9AM, one hour earlier than the other halls.1

 

  • The new startup pavilion will feature 14 carefully selected startups, highlighting cutting-edge automation, AI-powered logistics solutions, and innovative materials handling technologies.

 

  • ProMat Pier is a newly introduced networking area that can be found in the Lakeside Ballroom. This modern area was designed as a relaxation space where attendees can unwind and connect with others over food, drinks, and a picturesque view of Lake Michigan.

 

  • MHI Industry Group Theatre is located in the Lakeside Ballroom and will feature industry-specific presentations and discussions.1

Key Innovations Introduced at ProMat Over the Years

  • Autonomous Vehicles: ProMat has showcased driverless trucks, delivery drones, and automated crane technologies, which are transforming traditional supply chains by introducing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.

 

  • Advanced Robots:
    • Digit, Agility Robotics’ bipedal robot for confined spaces, won ProMat’s Best New Innovation Award2
    • Pickle Robot – A container unloading mechanism using a Kuka arm and suction grippers2
    • Boston Dynamics’ Stretch – A case handling robot for trailer unloading2

 

  • Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS): These systems have been a consistent feature, with a number of companies showcasing versions of carousel shelving and other dynamic storage and retrieval systems.

 

  • Enterprise Wearable Computing Suite: Ubimax GmbH won the Best IT Innovation award in 2017 for this technology.3

 

  • Twin Push Tray Sorter: EuroSort Inc. won the Best Innovation of an Existing Product award for this in

    2017.4

 

  • Exoskeletons: The SafeLift Suit by Verve Motion, designed to reduce strain on workers during lifting.5

  • Expansion: ProMat 2025 will be the largest and most comprehensive supply chain and materials handling trade show to date.6

 

  • Increased Exhibitor Participation: This event will feature over 1,100 exhibits from leading solution providers, representing all segments of the material handling, logistics, and transportation industry.7

 

  • International Focus: The event has become an official partner of the U.S. Department of Commerce, emphasizing its role in facilitating international trade and connections.8

 

  • MODEX, the premier international material handling, logistics, and supply chain show and conference, takes place in even-numbered years, while ProMat takes place in odd-numbered years.9
